I will not be purchasing the Nike Air Yeezy 2. Yes, I will not even attempt to purchase the most hyped sneaker…ever. The hypebeast of the world may think I am crazy or the resellers maybe rejoicing that one less person will be in front of them in the virtual world preventing them from the come up. The most sought after sneaker is releasing in two colorways at the same time, having the internet and retailers buzzing like bees on some fresh pollen.
I will not be purchasing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 because of the overwhelming hype surrounding the sneaker. I have never been the type of consumer to purchase any product that everyone is chasing after. Okay, I will be honest. I have never purchased a product that had crazy hype and went out and purchased the product immediately. I usually wait to see if the product is received well by reliable reviewers. When I saw people lining up for the Yeezy 2s a month out of a potential release date, the hype killed my opportunity to purchase the sneaker.
I will not be purchasing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 because of the price point. From reports, Nike will be releasing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 on June 9th with the retail price point of $245. If you think I am about to drop $245 on a pair of sneakers right now, you are crazy and need to be locked up for thinking foolish. Not only is the retail price point too expensive, the resale price point will be out of this world. Looking into my crystal ball, I forecast the Nike Air Yeezy 2s to resale around $2000.00 by Saturday afternoon. I have a wedding to attend out of state and paying off some debt. Sorry Nike.

Lastly, I will not be purchasing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 because I am not really feeling the design on the sneaker. As much as I am a fan of Kanye West, I am not feeling the design on the Yeezy 2s. If this sneaker wasn’t made by Nike or inspired by Kanye West, I don’t think anyone would really purchase them. The major knock I have against the design of Yeezy 2 is too much is going on. I am only stating this based on the images released online so things could change once I see them in person. Basically a mixture of materials and weird design work turn me off from purchasing this sneaker.
I have several more reasons why I will not be purchasing the Yeezy 2s but just know I will not even attempt to grab a pair. I was tempted to try my hand at the reseller game but I don’t want to ruin someone’s chances a having a sneaker they really want for retail price. I am a fan of Kanye West but just not the Nike Air Yeezy 2. Will you try to grab a pair or join me in waiting on another sneaker release?
